Louise de Wet is a South African artist working in collage, mixed media, oil painting, reconstructed three-dimensional forms and ceramics.

After a 22-year career in advertising and the sale of her business in 2002, she discovered art practice as a central mode of expression. She completed one year of formal study at the Ruth Prowse School of Art in Cape Town, with additional mentorship from artists including Alex Downes, Julia Teale, Paul Birchall, and Jill Trappler. She has participated in several group exhibitions and held her first major solo exhibition, Pussyfooting, in 2010. Her current body of work, Fragmentation – Convergence – Coherence, reflects a process-led and intuitive exploration of meaning, integration, and her lived experience. Her work is held in private collections in South Africa, Canada, Belgium, and Australia.
